Writing a college essay is often more stressful for a student than taking a math exam. However, with a few simple tips you can greatly improve your ability to write professionally. I went through the same fear when I was writing essays for my application process. 1. ‘Writing’ is not ‘Talking’ - do not use the sentences which you would use while talking
2. Be professional in your writing
3. Use synonyms of the words that are repeated many times
4. Don’t use the words which you don’t know how to use
5. Maintain the flow of the essay - link the title to your body
6. Don’t talk a lot about yourself
7. Use all types of punctuation marks
8. Stick to the topic
9. Type everything you think about then delete later if needed
10. Run your draft through another person, preferably an english teacher or counselor before submitting it.
